Filled Full

"Filled Full" - 8/09/20

Jesus healed.  He taught.  He shared stories.  People all over Israel knew He was.  Some came from long distances to see Him.  But only Jesus' disciples followed Him wherever He went.  Jesus was training His disciples to tell the good news.  One day, they would be the messengers and they would make disciples.

The large crowds that followed Jesus would fade away.  Jesus was just a celebrity to them.  After He healed them or taught them or did a miracle, the crowds would often leave.  But the disciples kept their eyes on Jesus.

You can turn Your eyes to Jesus by reading God's Word!  He is the one and only Son of God, worth following with all that you've got!

Intro

Jesus and His disciples are trying to get away from the crowd for a bit. So, they head to a quiet place and find a large crowd has beat them there.

Jesus is the bread that gives life!

Read the Story for Yourself!

Take a sec to read the story directly from God's Word!  You can find it in John 6.

A great way to read it is in the International Children's BIble (ICB) translation.  It's a simple and accurate Bible translation designed for kids.  Adults, like me, like it too!

Extra Time

Jesus is the bread that gives life!

The thousands of people who had listened to Jesus were happy to eat the bread and fish that He had created to feed them.  What an amazing miracle it was!  But what they wanted was not more Jesus; they wanted more bread.

Jesus said, "I am the bread that gives life."  Jesus was saying that He could give something that bread could never give: life forever with God!  The crowd walked away.  That wasn't the bread they wanted.  They just wanted normal bread.

Jesus looked at His disciples.  "Do you want to leave to?"  "No!" they said.  "We believe that You are the Holy One of God!"

The disciples believed in Jesus.  Will you?  For those who believe, Jesus can give forever life!
