"Washed with Tears"
- 9/13/20 -
In Jesus' day, there were people who thought they were important. Most everyone else thought that they were important as well. They dressed in nice clothes and kept all sorts of rules that they had made up. And they told other people that they needed to keep these rules as well.
The important people expected Jesus to be like them. But Jesus wasn't. Jesus hung out with people who everyone else thought weren't important. He didn't follow the made-up rules; instead, He showed the people that they needed hearts that were like God's heart. He even... forgave sins! The important people thought, "Who does He think He is? Only God can forgive sins!"
The important people were right! Only God can forgive sins. But Jesus is the Son of God! He is strong enough to forgives sins, because He is God. If you have believed and surrendered to Him, He can forgive Your sins as well.
Today's Story: "Washed with Tears"
Read the Story for Yourself!
A great way to read it is in the International Children's BIble (ICB) translation. It's a simple and accurate Bible translation designed for kids. Adults, like me, like it too!

Verse for the Week
The Son of Man must be killed and after three days rise again.
Father, I will never be good enough. I need Jesus to rescue me! Forgive me for my sins and help me walk in Jesus' whole new way of life.

Jesus forgives sins!
The "important people" thought that they were not sinners. They thought that they didn't need a rescuer, but Jesus saw into their hearts. The woman who had come to anoint Jesus with her tears was a sinner on the outside. The "important people" looked all clean on the outside, yet they were sinners on the inside.
Only the woman walked away forgiven of her sins.
If You've surrendered to Jesus, your sins will be forgiven. All of this is possible, because Jesus took your place by dying on the cross. He paid for your sins, so that you can know and enjoy God.
