Running Away

"Running Away"

- 9/06/20 -

Though Jesus could do amazing things that no one had ever seen, He also taught people about God in ways that they had never heard.  The people realized that Jesus knew what He was talking about.  He was an expert on God.

Jesus had come to show what God's love is like.  God's love is a never-stopping, never-giving-up, unbreaking, always and forever love.  Jesus was calling people home to God's love.

The amazing thing is that you and I were made to love God!  You are made in the image of God.  God loved you first by sending Jesus!  And through Jesus, you can do what you were made to do.

Read the Story for Yourself!

Take a sec to read the story directly from God's Word!  You can find it in Luke 15.

A great way to read it is in the International Children's BIble (ICB) translation.  It's a simple and accurate Bible translation designed for kids.  Adults, like me, like it too!

Verse for the Week

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Sample Prayer

Father, what an amazing story that Jesus told!  And it shows me that You welcome lost people home.   Help me to see You that way and to love You with all I've got!

AMEN

God's children are never too lost for God to find them!

Jesus told the story of the lost son to show that God is working to make the lost found!  The son had hurt his father, ran away and wasted all the father's money, and finally realized how good his father really was.  A normal father would probably be angry at the son, but not our Heavenly Father.  Our Heavenly Father welcomes lost sons and daughters home!

Jesus' was showing that God's children are never too lost for God to find them.  Jesus had come to show God's love to many who were lost.  And He came to welcome many into the family of God!

If You've surrendered to Jesus, you  are part of God's family.  Just like the lost son was embraced by the father, Your Heavenly Father welcomes You before Him as His son or His daughter.
