The Man Who Didn't Have Any Friends (None)

"The Man Who Didn't Have Any Friends (None)"

- 8/30/20 -

Back in Jesus' day, people didn't think children were very important.  Well, sometimes that's true today too...  But Jesus wasn't like most people.  He loved children.  He told the disciples that they needed to be gift-experts, just like the children were.

Being a gift-expert wasn't easy for some people.  Many thought they were too good to have to accept they gift.  They thought they could earn God's love.

But others knew better.  They were known as the "bad people".  Most people avoided them because of wrong things that they had done.  When these bad people came to Jesus, they knew they couldn't earn God's love.  They could only accept it as a gift.

If you believe in Jesus, you can accept God's love for you!  God loved you first!  He sent Jesus to wash away all the bad things you've done, so that you can finda whole new way of life.

Read the Story for Yourself!

Take a sec to read the story directly from God's Word!  You can find it in Luke 19.

A great way to read it is in the International Children's BIble (ICB) translation.  It's a simple and accurate Bible translation designed for kids.  Adults, like me, like it too!

Verse for the Week

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Sample Prayer

Father, Jesus shows me what Your love is like!  Just like Jesus called out Zacchaeus' name and loved him first, You loved me first by sending Jesus to die for my sins!  Show me, everyday, how strong Your love is.  I know it can change my life forever!

Jesus shows us what God's love is like!

Zacchaeus had done bad things.  He had no friends.  And in that sycamore tree as he looked down at Jesus, Zacchaeus surely thought that Jesus would never notice him in the large crowd.

But Jesus looked up into the tree.  Even though they had never met before, Jesus spoke out Zacchaeus' name.  He told Zacchaeus to come down because He was going to come over to his house that day!

This bad person who had no friends didn't deserve to have Jesus call out His name.  But Jesus loved Zacchaeus anyway.  Jesus was showing people exactly what God's love was like.  God's love is a wonderful and amazing love; a love that changes people's lives forever!

If You surrender to Jesus, you can experience that wonderful and amazing love!  It's a never-stopping, never-giving-up, unbreaking, always and forever love.
