The Servant King

"The Servant King"

- 9/20/20 -

Many people did not like Jesus.  The religious leaders did not like Jesus at all!  They were so angry with Jesus that they were willing to kill Jesus.

Others loved Jesus.  His closest disciples had followed Jesus everywhere.  Now, they absolutely adored Him.  He is so brilliant and powerful and amazing, they must have thought.  But the craziest thing of all was how Jesus treated them.  He was the rescuer sent to save God's people!  And He treated some smelly fisherman and a couple of misfits like friends!

Jesus had come to serve, not to be served.  He had come to be a friend of sinful people who didn't deserve it.  No matter what you have done, if you believe and surrender to Jesus, He can be your friend as well!  And, of course, a friend loves at all times!

Read the Story for Yourself!

Take a sec to read the story directly from God's Word!  You can find it in John 13-14.

A great way to read it is in the International Children's BIble (ICB) translation.  It's a simple and accurate Bible translation designed for kids.  Adults, like me, like it too!

Jesus is our Passover Lamb!

On that night, as Jesus sat with His disciples, He told them that His body would be broken and that His blood would be poured out.  Just as the Passover Lamb had been killed so the people could be saved so many years earlier, Jesus was telling His followers that He was their Passover Lamb.  He would die so that they could be saved from their sins.

After Jesus and His disciples sang a song, they walked down to an olive garden where Jesus was going to pray.

But before they got there, Jesus prayed with His disciples.  He prayed that they would stay together and love each other.  He prayed that they would walk in the light and have fellowship with one another.
